THSWPA State Championships
Starlynn Garza 2nd place (800lbs)

Jolene Salazar 235 bench press tied state record. State Best Bench Award 235lb bench press
Emily Martinez lifted all Nine Lifts (9 up award) and with a total of 1045lbs.
5th place team finish out of 64 teams.
Congratulations to our RHHS students!! They won the all around chapter award for shop division at the RGV Livestock Show!! Thank you parents and community members for all the support!!
A Message from RHISD:
The Boys Bobcat Powerlifting travelled to Kingsville to compete at the THSPA Region 5 Division 3 Regional Championships. The Bobcats placed 13th out of 34 of the toughest teams in the Region.

The Girls Bobcat Powerlifting Team competed at the THSWPA Region 5 Division 3 Powerlifting Championships at Bert Odgen Arena. The girls competed against some of the top teams in the state. As a team the girls placed 6th out of 26 teams sending 4 girls to state.

This past weekend 22 of our Rio Hondo High School P-Tech band students competed at the Region 28 UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest at Mercedes High School in which they performed demanding UIL repertoire for their instrumental judge.
We are proud to announce that ALL 22 STUDENTS EARNED A 1ST DIVISION! AND 20 OF OUR STUDENTS ADVANCE TO THE TEXAS STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE CONTEST!
